Caleb Davis (Saddle Spring Outfitters) called to say he watched 8 wolves (2 definite adults, 6 were smaller, but didn't think all 6 were pups) take down an elk ~ 400 yards from his hunting camp; all wolves were gray. Hughes Creek pack has (had?) 1 gray and 1 black pup...either black pup was not with group, or two different groups of wolves using area.
