Idaho Department of Fish and Game comments re: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Species Status Assessment for the whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis)

Abstract:

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) received notice that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is initiating a Species Status Assessment (SSA) that will inform their decision on whether or not whitebark pine (Pinus albicaulis) will be proposed for listing or removed from the candidate list. To inform the SSA, the USFWS requested the latest scientific information on the species. This is the first time IDFG has provided technical information in response to a status review for the whitebark pine.
