Species Account:
Looked to be a mature mule deer doe. Good size. I was driving to work and was going about 25mph at about 6am, when I heard a thump from the pass side of my truck immediately followed by the rear tire running something over. I came to a stop and carefully backed up until I saw the doe on the side of the road. She must have jumped the fence and slide on the ice on the side of the road and into my truck and then under it. It appeared that the tire ran over her rear legs or hip. She couldn't stand. My wife attempted to contact the sheriffs dept (Gem Co.) but no one would answer. On my way home from work I noticed that she had managed to get back over the fence and made it a few yards into the field where she apparently died. The doe hit me on the road but is now in someones field.
