Species Account:
See photos.... Cow Elk smaller, most likely a calf or yearling. A front quarter and hind quarter legs we caught in a barbed wire fence section. Also, the other hind quarter leg was wrapped with barbed wire. This Elk was 100% expired when we got over to it. The birds and other predators had be feasting on one of the front quarters. We have had the Elk herd behind us for a few weeks now and last night they moved into our cow pasture and were eating with our cows. At 7:00pm on January 5, 2017 we pushed the herd away from our hay piled and all was well. We got up on January 6, 2017 and spotted the above mention elk caught in the fence, no sign of life was ever detected.
