Species Account:
The calf looked to be from spring 2013 from size. Mother was still present and would not allow closer examination than about 50 yards. From the position of the body, it looked like calf was struck by vehicle and wandered about 200 yards off road and laid down where it then died. Body was laying down but still upright and head twisted off to the side. Observed through binoculars blood around one eye. See pictures.
