Unprotected animals are all remaining animals in Idaho that are not listed as protected, endangered, or threatened AND all animals listed in categories above without a season.

Reporting roadkill mortalities gives IDFG and ITD more informaiton to help prevent these losses to wildlife and dangers to travelers. Some species can be salvaged as well by filling out this form and waiver.

Salvage Information

During the 2012 Idaho Legislative session, new rules were approved which allow Idaho residents to recover, posses, and sell commercially valuable wildlife that have been killed by accidental vehicle collisions. Below are common questions and explanations concerning the new rules.
