Directions: I-84 Exit #99; 15.5 mi E on Old Oregon Tr Rd; L (NE) onto Bennett Mtn Rd; 5 mi to reservoir; continue N on Bennett Mtn Rd (Little Canyon Creek Road) birding along the way; when you reach US 20 you have TWO CHOICES: 1) L (W) to Little Camas Prairie Reservoir (SW30) and Mountain Home. 2) R (E) Camas Prairie Centennial Marsh and Fairfield (SW 31).
Description: Blair Trail Reservoir is one of the five ephemeral reservoirs that are containments for melt water from the Danskin Mountains. Raptors good year-round. Redtailed Hawk and Rough-legged Hawk can be found during the winter. During the summer, Prairie and Peregrine Falcons and American Kestrel can be seen along with nesting Burrowing Owl. Passerines include Savannah, Lark, Vesper, and Brewer’s Sparrows. The reservoir is good for waterfowl including
Northern Shoveler, Eared, Western, and Clark’s Grebes, Mallard, and scaup. Mountain Quail occurred here historically;
recent efforts to re-establish the population have included translocations of birds from other western states.
