Comment Opportunity: Draft Management Plan for Westslope Cutthroat Trout in Idaho

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has developed a draft Management Plan for the Conservation of Westslope Cutthroat Trout in Idaho.  The Idaho Fish and Game Commission has authorized a 60-day public comment period.

Westslope cutthroat trout are a native species and an important game fish. They occupy an estimated 80 percent of their historical range in Idaho.

This draft plan discusses the population status of westslope cutthroat trout in major watershed groupings and the conservation actions the Department intends to pursue to protect and enhance populations and habitat across the species range in Idaho.

We would appreciate it if you would take some time to read the draft plan and provide us with your comments no later than Friday, July 26, 2013. Thank you for your time.

If you have any questions about this draft plan, please contact Scott Grunder, Conservation and Restoration Coordinator, at 208-334-3791.
