Is the .50 AE (50 Action Express) considered a pistol cartridge for the purposes of Short Range Season Hunting? Its a straight walled pistol cartridge and I think it falls under Idaho Fish and Game Guidelines by being a straight walled case developed for a pistol, but I just wanted to be sure.
The law or rules for short-range hunting season, for big game, says: "...[a] handgun using straight-walled cartridges not originally developed for rifles." Would this mean that someone, if they were so inclined, could hunt big game during the short-range hunting season with a pistol in 9mm or 40 S&W calibers?
