The application period is May 1 through June 5 for the fall 2024 swan controlled hunt in the Panhandle Region. Successful controlled hunt applicants will be notified by July 10. A total of 50 swan tags were added to the controlled hunt application process following a Fish and Game Commission decision in July 2021.

Crystal Springs Pond in Bingham County will be slowly drawn down beginning Tuesday, April 23, to help with repairs to Edwards Road near Springfield Fish Hatchery.
This beautiful female steelhead was recently captured at our weir on the East Fork Potlatch River and released upstream to spawn. Fisheries staff previously captured this fish as a juvenile at one of the habitat restoration sites in the East Fork Potlatch River in 2020. At that time, she was about 6 inches in length and now she measures over 30 inches!
