Float Tubes on Silver Creek

Just wanted to confirm that many float tubes that are now designed with the "seat above the water", such as those made by Outcast, would not be legal on sections of Silver Creek since the seat is not in the water (just your legs) according to the float tube definition in the fishing information section of the regs. Not many float tubes being sold anymore that put your waist in the water....

Answer:

You are correct.  The definition of a "floattube" in Idaho Code specifically states "that the seat must be in the water in order to be classified as a floattube."  We have internally discussed on several occasions updating this definition to include more modern styles of floatation craft.  This may be an issue we try to address in the coming year.
