"Conservation biology is a discipline with a deadline..."
...and we are on a serious deadline to identify thousands of snails we collected this summer so that we can accurately assess their conservation status before the next State Wildlife Action Plan is submitted to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in 2015.
Before we can identify them for identification we still need to find them - and right now they are hidden in a few hundred gallons of dry leaf litter!
Some of our study snails are only a few millimeters in diameter and finding them in the leaf litter is like a great treasure hunt!
Please join us on Friday, November 8 for a group work day to sort leaf litter for snails and millipedes. All equipment will be provided.
Don't miss this chance to do something great for north Idaho wildlife!
When: Friday, November 8, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Where: Waterlife Discovery Center - 1591 Lakeshore Drive, Sagle, ID 83860
Please RSVP to Lynette if possible, but it's okay to just show up too.
