Idaho Big Game Records

Select a species:

The Idaho Big Game Records are maintained by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) to recognize trophy wild big game animals in Idaho. Game farm animals are not accepted.

The records shown are compiled from Fish and Game files and the available official records of both the Boone and Crockett Club and the Pope and Young Club.

The records are updated annually in May.

Rules for Entering Trophies

  • All trophies entered into the Idaho Big Game Records must be measured by a designated IDFG employee or an official measurer of either the Boone and Crockett Club or Pope and Young Club. Contact a Fish and Game office for a for a list of local measurers.
  • To enter a trophy into the Idaho records, complete and submit the Idaho Big Game Records Entry Form [PDF, 20 kb] along with a copy of the complete, official score sheet signed by the measurer.
  • The deadline for submission to be included in the annual update and entry into the records is April 1.
  • Prior to an official measurement, the animal's skull, antlers or horns must be air dried (not frozen) for at least 60 days from the date of harvest.

The minimum scores for entry into the Idaho Record Book are the same for archery, rifle, muzzleloader and "pick-up" entries.
