Idaho Fish and Game investigating illegal killing of a pronghorn near Aberdeen

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is seeking information regarding the illegal killing of an adult female pronghorn in southeast Idaho. Idaho Fish and Game conservation officers estimate that the animal was shot with a rifle sometime between April 4 and April 11.

Youth Outdoor Skills Day event set for May 10, at Beaver Dick Park

F&G Commission sets migratory game bird seasons for 2025-26

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission set the 2025-2026 migratory game bird seasons, including waterfowl, mourning dove, American crow, and sandhill crane. In 2024, Fish and Game then conducted a web-based goose hunter opinion survey to obtain input from goose hunters on how to structure goose seasons and zones.

Idaho Fish and Game Commission rescinds Snake River hunting, fishing, and trapping closure due to quagga mussels

At their April 15, 2025 meeting, the Idaho Fish and Game Commission rescinded their Snake River closure to hunting, fishing and trapping below the high-water mark near Twin Falls that had been in place since September 29, 2023.

Upper Salmon River Steelhead Fishing Report (04-15-2025)

Steelhead angler effort remained high last week upstream of the East Fork Salmon River, while effort continuing to decline in all other areas. Catch rates above the East Fork remained excellent with interviewed anglers averaging 4 hours per steelhead caught. Anglers interviewed downstream of the Pahsimeroi River averaged 11 hours per steelhead caught, but most of the catch occurred earlier in the week before poor river conditions set in on Thursday.
