Sockeye Trap Returns
Idaho anadromous (fish that migrate to and from the ocean) fish hatcheries have weirs (barriers) on spawning streams to help trap returning adult sockeye that were reared or released at those sites. These adult fish are either utilized for hatchery production or released to spawn naturally.
The counts listed in the table below include both naturally-produced and hatchery-produced fish, and are updated when numbers change significantly or during peak times for numbers of fish being trapped.
