Students are encouraged to take a Hunter Education course prior to enrolling in a Bowhunter Education course.
To participate in an archery only hunt a bowhunter must complete a Bowhunter Education Course or provide proof that a valid archery permit was previously held in Idaho or another state.
This requirement may be met by providing proof of having completed an approved bowhunter education course in Idaho or another state; or by providing proof that a valid archery permit was previously held in Idaho or another state.
Instructor-led courses are considered the best option for students under 14 years of age and/or for individuals having minimal hunting experience.
These 12 to 14 hour courses provide students with the highest level of interactive, hands-on training from experienced, certified instructors. Students will be evaluated on their class participation, exam score and field exercise participation.
