Geringer ThumbnailJim Geringer

Jim Geringer received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Kansas State University and served as an officer in the United States Air Force. Jim was elected as Wyoming’s 30th governor in 1994 and completed his second term in January 2003. As governor, Jim was chair of the Western Governors' Association. He also participated extensively in policy development for all levels of education. Jim is a strong advocate for technology in government, centered on using technology to enhance citizen services and emphasizing the benefits of integrated service delivery and enterprise-wide solutions. This advocacy led him to join ESRI, the top provider of geographic information system software in the world as Director of Policy and Public Sector Strategy.


 

Szukalski ThumbnailBern Szukalski

Bern Szukalski is a Pennsylvania native and has a degree in Biology and Chemistry. Arriving at ESRI in 1986 with a background in both environmental consulting and biomedical research, he began his GIS career as an Applications Specialist working on the Peacekeeper Rail Garrison and CIA World DataBank projects. Over the past 22 years at ESRI he has held a variety of positions and served in many different roles, encompassing a broad spectrum of GIS implementation and software development projects. Bern is currently a Senior Product Manager and Technology Evangelist, focusing on GIS visualization and collaboration via the Web.
