Site Location

Directions: On the N side of American Falls Reservoir, from Springfield, turn off of ID 39, S on Chandler Rd (1955 W) for 0.2 mi; R into parking area; backtrack to ID 39, R (E) to mp 33.2; S on Crystal Springs Rd (1950 W) for 0.2 mi; cross rr; park; walk on R (W) edge of railroad embankment.

Description: Spring migration brings hundreds of birds to the pond. Highlights are shorebirds and waterfowl including American Avocet, Black-necked Stilt, Long-billed Dowitcher, and yellowlegs. Osprey and Caspian Tern in summer. Marsh Wren and Virginia Rail in marsh areas.
