Hanna Flats Cedar Grove

Access: Open June-November. Snow may limit vehicle access. Access free of charge.

Site Location

Directions: From Priest River, ID 57 N ~30 mi; turn L (W) onto FR 313; drive ~1.5 mi to the trailhead.

Description: This grove of western red cedar and western white pine trees provides habitat for birds that require old growth forests. This is a relic grove of trees that escaped fires in the past. Species present include Varied Thrush, Winter Wren, Cassin’s Vireo, Pileated Woodpecker, Ruffed Grouse, and Northern Goshawk.
