Antlerless Elk
Only elk without antlers or with antlers shorter than 6 inches may be taken in any season which is open for antlerless elk only.

Rifle, Archery, Muzzleloader, Shotgun, or Handgun.

Restrictions
  • Landowner Permission Hunt. Written permission from landowner who owns more than 159 acres in the hunt area is required to apply for this hunt. Landowner Permission Hunt Permits will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis at the Nampa, McCall and headquarters IDFG offices starting July 15. Do not apply for this hunt during the controlled hunt application period.

That portion of Unit 39 starting at the far northwest corner and following along the north boundary of Unit 39 southeast until the intersection with the Forest Service Road 374 at Hawley Mountain, then south along Forest Service Road 374 to the intersection of Harris Creek Road (Forest Service Road 307), then west along Harris Creek Road to Hwy 55, then north along the west border of Unit 39 to the far northwest corner of Unit 39. Area Size: 54,941 acres
