Special Restrictions:
  • YOUTH HUNT: ONLY hunters 12-17 years of age with a valid license and tag may participate in this hunt.
  • Motorized Hunting Rule (MHR): Motorized vehicle use as an aid to hunting for wildlife is restricted to established roadways open to motorized vehicle traffic capable of travel by full-sized automobiles. A full-size automobile shall be defined as any motorized vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) in excess of 1,500 lbs. Antlerless deer taken during the youth general hunt in Unit 70 and Unit 71 are required to be checked by IDFG. Deer may be checked at the Pocatello Regional Office (weekdays 8:00-5:00) or at the Inkom Check station (8:00-8:00 Oct 15, 16, 22 &23) located at the Port of Entry weigh station. The entire unskinned carcass shall be presented for the mandatory check. We are beginning a new project looking at mule deer in the Southeast region. Information collected from this check will be used to better manage deer for the future.
