Area Names:
Hunt Area 1-9
Hunt areas are numbered sequentially by year and species. The unfortunate result is that a 2010 Deer Hunt Area 1-1 may not have the same boundary as a 2009 Deer Hunt Area 1-1 or even 2010 Elk Hunt Area 1-1. To be clear, always check the hunt area boundary to see if they match. For querying historical statistics you can use the huntplanner, drawing odds search and harvest statistics search tools on this site which do a rough match of historical hunt areas by units, species, weapons and other factors to allow comparison.
That portion of Unit 1 within the following boundary: Beginning at the Idaho-Montana border where it crosses the Kootenai River, then south along the Idaho-Montana border to the Kootenai River-Clark Fork watershed divide, then northwest along the watershed divide to Mount Pend Oreille, then north along the Kootenai River-Pack River watershed divide to Mount Calder, then northeast along the Boulder Creek watershed divide to the point of beginning.
