Public Use of Tex Creek WMA

Activities available to Tex Creek WMA visitors are as
varied as the landscape. Wildlife viewing is perhaps the most
popular activity with elk, deer, birds of prey, song birds
and small mammals all commonly seen on WMA lands.
And during spring, a host of wildflowers emerge to blanket
Tex Creek in splashes of color. After many months of winter
weather, this seasonal splendor proves delightful to WMA
visitors. Day hiking and horseback riding are excellent ways to
search for WMA wildlife, view the bountiful wildflowers and
explore little-seen portions of Tex Creek. Unbeatable scenery is
an added bonus for those who venture from their vehicles.
Several miles have been constructed for this purpose.
Overnight camping opportunities at Tex Creek WMA are
limited to those sites designated on this brochure map.
Hunting is becoming increasingly popular at Tex Creek
WMA. Big game, upland bird and small game hunting are
all allowed in season.
