How To Get There
On state route 3 between St. Maries and Santa turn west on Flat Creek road. This is the main access road into St. Maries WMA. Most roads and access trails within the WMA diverge from Flat Creek road in a loop road and trail system, providing access to almost all of the WMA.
General Information
The St. Maries Wildlife Management Area is a beautiful mountainous area located in Benewah County on the lower end of the St. Maries River drainage about five miles south of the town of St. Maries. The WMA provides the public with big game and upland game hunting opportunities and winter range for elk, white-tailed deer and mule deer. The St. Maries River bordering the WMA on the south and west is populated with native westslope cutthroat trout and mountain whitefish, introduced species include rainbow trout, brook trout, kokanee salmon and most recently smallmouth bass.
