Public Use of Sterling WMA

Public access is one of the most important benefits provided by Sterling WMA. The marshes provide good duck hunting opportunity, particularly early in the season. Food and cover plots provide opportunity for goose and pheasant hunting virtually throughout the season. Continued hunting pressure and heavy cover can make pheasant hunting a challenge without the benefit of a good dog. Be sure to consult the appropriate hunting regulations and other use restrictions as posted.

In addition to hunting, the area is also used throughout the year by educational groups and individuals that enjoy viewing and photographing wildlife.
