Public Use of Red River WMA

The ranch house on Red River WMA is available to the public and other agencies for conservation related meetings, organization gatherings, education and training sessions. User fees will be charged and will be used for maintaining and improving facilities. Because the water must be shut off during the cold months, the ranch house is open to use from mid-April through mid-November.

The viewing kiosk provides spectacular viewing and photo possibilities to visitors. From here you will see scenic vistas of the meadowlands and it's wildlife community including elk, white-tailed deer, moose, geese, ducks and many others. The kiosk is equipped for those visitors who may be physically challenged.

Public access to areas beyond the ranch house compound will generally be restricted between April 1 and June 15 to minimize disturbance to calving grounds and to enhance wildlife viewing opportunities. Access by motorized vehicles outside the wooden pole fence area surrounding the main buildings will not be allowed at any time. This protects wildlife and critical habit for future generations to enjoy.
