Wildlife viewing, photography, hiking, horseback riding, crosscountry
skiing, and hunting are just some of the outdoor activities
available at Portneuf WMA. Because vehicle access to the WMA
is seasonally restricted, visitors may have to enter the WMA on
foot or horse. Three perimeter parking areas allow access to the
entire WMA.
Deer and elk hunting are available on Portneuf WMA lands.
Upland game bird hunting for ringnecked pheasant and blue,
ruffed and sharp-tailed grouse can be good in years of high
production. Small game hunting for cottontail rabbits is also
variable.
