Public Use of Gem State WMA

Visitors to Gem State Wildlife Habitat Area will find ample opportunity for wildlife and nature viewing and photography. Development within the WHA is limited and insures that wildlife habitat is not jeopardized and future generations will be able to enjoy the diversity of wildlife to be seen here. Non-motorized use of the WMA for hunting and trapping is allowed and the hunter will find many opportunities for success. Fishing on the Snake River adjacent to the WHA will provide hours of enjoyment as you try to catch that trophy sized rainbow or cutthroat trout. Rainbow, cutthroat and mountain whitefish are common throughout the year.
