Visiting Hours - Deer Parks Wildlife Mitigation Complex is open year-round and has no established visiting hours. Schools and other groups are encouraged to visit Deer Parks. Access for the Disabled - For persons with disabilities, access within Deer Parks varies by area. Visitors with special needs are encouraged to contact management personnel to determine which area(s) are most suitable for disabled visitors. In all cases, visitors are encouraged to assess their own abilities before entering Deer Parks. Vehicles/Parking - Use of motorized vehicles, is permitted only on designated roadways shown on this brochure map. These restrictions protect area vegetation, minimize wildlife disturbance, and improve hunting experiences and success. Please park only in designated areas. Boating - Boating on the Snake River is aided by the Beaver Dick Sportsman’s Access, the Menan Boat Ramp, and the MikeWalker Boat Ramp east of Roberts. Boat Restrictions - No motorized watercraft are allowed on Butte Slough or other sloughs. This restriction protects waterfowl that are nesting or raising young on these confined bodies of water. Area closures may occur seasonally to protect nesting Bald Eagles and waterfowl, and these closures are clearly signed. Wildlife Observation/Photography - Deer Parks provides excellent opportunities to view wildlife, particularly waterfowl and songbirds. Visitors are welcome to hike throughout the area for wildlife viewing and photography purposes. Hunting/Fishing - Both hunting and fishing are allowed on Deer Parks, but specific rules and access to some locations may change from year to year. Consult current hunting and fishing regulations for more details. Camping - Camping is not permitted on the Deer Parks Complex. Fires/Firewood Cutting - Fires are not allowed on Deer Parks. Firewood cutting and removal of materials from their natural setting are prohibited. Pets - Pets must be leashed or under close control at all times on Deer Parks, with the exception of bird dogs during hunting seasons. The release or abandonment of domestic animals on Deer Parks is prohibited. Blinds - Concealment blinds for hunting and photography purposes may be erected for day use only and may not be left overnight. Blinds established on site may use natural materials as long as the soil is undisturbed, woody cover is not cut or altered, and artificial fasteners and materials are not left at the blind. All blinds shall be available to the public on a “first come, first served” basis.
