Visiting Camas Prairie WMA

Visiting Hours - Camas Prairie Centennial Marsh Wildlife Management Area is open year-round and has no established visiting hours. School and other groups are encouraged to visit Camas Prairie Centennial Marsh WMA in the spring when waterfowl numbers peak. Those interested in a WMA guided tour should call well in advance of the proposed trip date. IDFG personnel will make every effort to accommodate group trips.

Access for the Disabled - For persons with disabilities, access within Camas Prairie Centennial Marsh WMA varies by area. Visitors with special needs are encouraged to contact WMA management personnel to determine which area(s) are most suitable for physically-challenged visitors. In all cases, visitors are encouraged to assess their own abilities before entering Camas Prairie Centennial Marsh WMA.

Vehicles/Parking - Use of motorized vehicles, including ATVs, is permitted only on roadways shown on this brochure map. These restrictions protect area vegetation and minimize wildlife disturbance. Please park only in designated areas. Note that spring flooding of roadways is a common phenomenon at Camas Prairie Centennial Marsh WMA. Flood waters may make some roads impassable to low-clearance vehicles.

Wildlife Observation/Photography - Camas Prairie Centennial Marsh WMA attracts a wide variety of waterfowl and shorebirds, particularly during spring months. For wildlife viewing and photography purposes, visitors are encouraged to drive the WMA wildlife route depicted on the brochure map. To enhance your outing, a bird species checklist is available at WMA headquarters.

Hunting - Waterfowl, upland bird and small game hunting are allowed on Camas Prairie Centennial Marsh WMA, but specific regulations and access to some WMA locations may change from year to year. Consult current regulations for more details.

Camping - Overnight camping is prohibited on Camas Prairie Centennial Marsh WMA lands. Overnight camping is available at Mormon Reservoir, a few miles east of the WMA.

Fires/Firewood Cutting - Fires and firewood cutting are prohibited on Camas Prairie Centennial Marsh WMA lands. Removal of materials from their natural setting is prohibited.

Pets - Pets must be leashed or under close control at all times on Camas Prairie Centennial Marsh WMA, with the exception of bird dogs during hunting seasons. The release or abandonment of domestic animals on Camas Prairie Centennial Marsh WMA is prohibited.
