Visiting Hours - Cecil D. Andrus WMA is open year-round with seasonal restrictions for motorized vehicle access listed in Area Restrictions. Office hours at the WMA headquarters are established each year relative to hunting seasons.
Office Hours are as follows:
All Andrus WMA roads are closed to motorized vehicles from January 1 to May 1 of each year. You may access the WMA by foot, horseback or other non-motorized means during this time. Please respect the “No Shooting Zone” surrounding the office, residences and livestock pastures.

September 1st to September 16th
Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
September 17th to October 31st
Monday – Friday: 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
November 1st to December 31st
Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Access for the Disabled - Cecil D. Andrus WMA has no facilities for persons with disabilities. Visitors are encouraged to contact WMA management personnel to determine which areas are most suitable for physically challenged visitors. In all cases, visitors are encouraged to assess their own abilities before entering Cecil D. Andrus WMA. Woodhead Park Campground operated by Idaho Power adjacent to the WMA has restrooms and shower facilities accessible to persons with disabilities.
Vehicles/Parking - Use of motorized vehicles is restricted to existing public roads and access roads as shown on map available the WMA headquarters. Gates require a key that visitors can check out at the WMA headquarters. Consult with management personnel for specific details. Parking is permitted in the parking area at headquarters and at the mouth of Brownlee Creek. Please park in designated areas.
Area Restrictions - All motorized vehicles, including ATVs, are prohibited on the entire WMA from January 1 through May 1. Certain access roads open the rest of the year require a key to open gates. These keys are available at the WMA headquarters and are limited in number. Controlled access maintains low-density motorized use of the WMA and protects wildlife and habitat so that the quality of the WMA remains high for all users and future generations of visitors. Bicycles and other non-motorized wheeled vehicles are restricted to traveling on designated open roads only.
Hiking - All areas of the WMA are open to hiking, throughout the entire year. Visitors are encouraged to use good judgement and avoid causing damage to wildlife habitat or stress to wildlife.
Wildlife Observation/Photography - All areas of the WMA are open to wildlife observation and photography throughout the entire year. Visitors are encouraged to use good judgement and avoid causing damage to wildlife habitat or stress to wildlife.
Hunting/Fishing/Trapping - All hunting, fishing and trapping seasons and bag limits authorized by the Idaho Fish and Game Commission that are applicable to the surrounding area apply on the WMA. Trappers must check in with WMA management personnel.
Weed-Free Hay - All animal feed brought on to the Cecil D. Andrus WMA must be certified weed-free. Straw or much should also be weed-free. Livestock should be fed on weed-free feed for at least 96 hours before being brought on Cecil D. Andrus WMA. Noxious weeds can destroy habitat and forage, reducing the quality of wildlife, recreation and hunting.
Camping - No overnight camping or parking is allowed behind any of the access gates on the WMA. Those visitors desiring to camp should make use of Idaho Power’s Woodhead Park or the USFS Brownlee Guard Station Campground near the WMA.
Fires/Firewood Cutting - Fires and firewood cutting are prohibited on Cecil D. Andrus WMA. The removal of materials from their natural setting is not permitted.
Pets - Pets must be leashed or under close control at all times on Cecil D. Andrus WMA, with the exception of hunting dogs during hunting seasons. The release or abandonment of domestic animals on the WMA is prohibited at all times.
