McCall Subregion Fishing Information

Weekly Fishing Report

Updated: September 24, 2008

This report highlights a few of the best places to fish, what anglers are using and what they are catching. The information is compiled from regional Fish and Game fishery managers, local tackle shops and anglers.

Cascade Lake: Yellow perch are still providing action on Cascade. Trout fishing has been up and down but locals are expecting improvement with the cooler weather.

Mountain Lakes: This is the best time of the year to fish high lakes. Until the weather closes the high country, these waters will be a good bet. Smaller lakes and reservoirs such as Brundage, Goose Lake, Tripod and Horsethief are good this time of year.

Horsethief Reservoir: Horsethief trout fishing continues to hold up well, as it did through most of the summer.

Local ponds, family fishing waters: Ponds have been stocked and providing good trout fishing. Ponds include Rowland Pond, Fish Lake, Brown’s and Cruzen Pond.
