Reduce your Trash and Recycle June 10, June 18, June 24, July 1, 2008 — 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Enjoy a summer evening at the MK Nature Center and learn how to take action in your own home to reduce, reuse and recycle products. Trio high school students from all over Southern Idaho will be at the MK Nature Center pond to demonstrate and teach some simple recycling practices. No admission fees. Call 334-2225.

Critter Club — Desert Animals Wednesdays June 25, July 9, July 30, August 6, August 13, 2008 — 12:30 - 2:30 p.m.
Did you know that Southern Idaho is a cold desert? Find out about the fascinating and diverse desert animals that call Idaho home. Each session learn about a different desert animal and make art to take home. Join the fun between 12:30-2:30pm in the Nature Center courtyard. No fees. Call 334-2225

Idaho Salmon & Steelhead Days Salmon Barbecue Thursday, September 11, 2008 — 5:30 - 8:00 pm
Support Idaho Salmon & Steelhead Days by attending the salmon barbecue. Enjoy a delicious salmon dinner donated by Fred Meyer and prepared by Murphy's Seafood Bar & Grill chefs. Dessert is donated by Goody's Soda Fountain & Candy Store. All barbecue activities are family friendly and include live music, gyotaku fish painting and splashing in the Boise River with the activity Kids in the Creek. The Nature Center stream walk will be open for viewing live Chinook salmon and kokanee salmon. Tickets are limited and sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. During the three day event, as many as 1,800 fifth graders participate in hands-on outdoor activities. Classes are scheduled in the spring for the following year. All events are held at Idaho Fish & Game's headquarters at 600 S. Walnut St., Boise.

Creatures of the Night - A Nocturnal Celebration October 24 & 25, 2008 — 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
As the sun sets, out come the creatures of the night! Bring the whole family in costume to the MK Nature Center for our fourth annual Creatures of the Night Halloween event. Bring a sense of adventure for a night walk to learn all about nocturnal critters like beavers, owls, spiders, wolves, and crayfish. Create your own mask and enjoy fireside story telling. Purchase tickets in advance at the MK Nature Center after October 15. Tickets are $3/person (kids age 2 and under are free). A limited number of tickets (400/night) will be sold to maintain the quality of the event. The MK Nature Center is located behind Fish and Game Headquarters at 600 S. Walnut in Boise.
