Spring nesting waterfowl include Canada Goose, Green-winged and Cinnamon Teal, Mallard, and Wood Duck. Upland gamebirds include Ring-necked Pheasant, California Quail, and Chukar. Great Blue Heron roost on boulders to the east. Rangeland habitats are occupied by Horned Lark, White-crowned Sparrow, and Sage Thrasher. Warblers and buntings inhabit the windbreaks, while wrens and swallows stake their claim on the rock ledges and talus slopes of the canyon rim.
