Directions: From Moscow, ID 8 E through Deary to mp 38.1; L (N) onto FR 281 (signed and just before Bovill); follow FR 281 for ~2 miles to reservoir.
Description: During spring along FR 281 into Moose Creek Reservoir, check the riparian brush for Black-chinned Hummingbird, Dusky Flycatcher, House Wren, Yellow, Townsend’s, Orange-crowned, and MacGillivray’s Warblers. During the winter look for Black-capped Chickadee, Winter Wren, Golden-crowned Kinglet, Cassin’s and House Finches, Pine Siskin, and American Goldfinch. At the lake, during the spring and summer, play tapes for Sora and Virginia Rail, and look for yellowlegs, Wilson’s Snipe and Phalarope, and Marsh Wren. The campground often has Red-naped Sapsucker, Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers, Black-capped, Mountain, and Chestnut-backed Chickadees, Red-breasted and White-breasted Nuthatches, and Varied Thrush.
