Description: The treatment ponds are a spring migratory hotspot for waterfowl, grebes, wading birds, shorebirds, gulls, and other waterbirds. Species observed during the spring migration include Snow Goose (with occasional sightings of Ross’s Goose), Western and Clark’s Grebes, American White Pelican, American Avocet, Marbled Godwit, Forster’s Tern, and Franklin’s Gull. Bird species regularly observed May-Oct include Wood Duck, Green-winged, Blue-winged, and Cinnamon Teal, Redhead, Canvasback, Northern Pintail, American Wigeon, Common and Barrow’s Goldeneyes, Northern Shoveler, Ring-necked Duck, Lesser Scaup, and Osprey. Over 100 species have been observed here.
