Directions: From junction US 93/ID 28 in Salmon, US 93 S for 5.1 mi; R (W) on Williams Ck Rd 2.3 mi; L fork to Williams Lake Rd for 6.7 mi; take R spur (FR 028) for 0.3 mi to Williams Lake Rec Site; continue W on FR 028 for 1.4 mi to FS boat ramp and day use area; go 0.5 mi to Lake Ck Trail parking; trail leads to S side of Williams Lake.
Description: The Lake Creek riparian corridor is most rewarding May-Oct. Look for Rufous Hummingbird, Red-naped Sapsucker, Downy Woodpecker, Western Wood-Pewee, Warbling Vireo, Tree Swallow, Golden-crowned Kinglet, Western Tanager, and Ruffed and Blue Grouse. At the Williams Lake Rec Site, Hairy Woodpecker, Olive-sided Flycatcher, Clarkâs Nutcracker, White-breasted Nuthatch, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Dark-eyed Junco, and Evening Grosbeak can be seen. North of the campground, watch for Violet-green Swallow, Mountain Bluebird, Spotted Towhee, Lazuli Bunting, Canyon Wren, and Peregrine Falcon. A pair of Red-necked Grebes has taken up summer residence at the west end of Williams Lake.
