Site Location

Directions: I-90 Exit #22 (E of CDA); ID 97 S ~28 mi; L (NE) on Blue Lake Rd; Anderson Lake is S and Thompson Lake is N; Harrison is 1.5 mi farther S on ID 97.

Description: Anderson and Thompson Lakes are part of the Coeur D’Alene River WMA. Along Blue Lake Rd, look for Tundra Swan, and waterfowl. Eurasian Wigeon may be seen amongst the large flocks of waterfowl during migration. During the winter, American Tree and Swamp Sparrows as well as Northern Shrike have been seen. Common summer visitors include Canada Goose, Yellow Warbler, Black Tern, and Violet-green Swallow. Nesting Osprey are abundant - look up at the utility poles! At the lakes, look for Pied-billed, Red-necked, and Horned Grebes.
