Directions: From Coeur d’Alene, ID 95 N ~5 mi; at mp 434.3, R (E) onto Honeysuckle Ave ~2 mi to Honeysuckle Beach; from beach parking area, backtrack and turn L (S) onto Dike Rd; go 0.5 mi and turn L (W) on E Hayden Lake Rd; follow rd around the lake counter-clockwise; R (W) onto Lancaster Rd when E Hayden Lake Rd ends on west side of lake; follow back to ID 95.
Description: The bays at Hayden Lake are good for nesting Red-necked Grebe, Wood Duck, American Wigeon and Cinnamon Teal. Horned Grebe, ducks, and gulls are common in late fall through spring. Look for loons, swans, Osprey, and Bald Eagle in the area.
