Directions: I-90 Exit #39 (Cataldo Mission); N on Dredge Rd 1.3 mi; L (W) on E Canyon Rd for 0.2 mi; R (N) on Hayden Ck Rd for 0.1 mi; L (W) onto Hayden Loop for 0.7 mi; rd meets Canyon Rd again; W on Canyon Rd; R (N) on Hardy Loop Rd 1 mi loop back to Canyon Rd; W on Canyon Rd 0.7 mi; S onto River Rd and cross over I-90, continue straight S on Tamarack Ridge Rd 1.8 mi to intersection with River Rd; R (N) on River Rd 1.5 mi; backtrack to Coeur d’Alene River; W on S River Rd 2.5 mi to town of Rose Lake and ID 3.

Description: Please respect private property and bird from the road only. Near Dredge Rd look for Pied-billed Grebe, Wood Duck, American Wigeon, and Ruddy Duck. Tundra Swan and Canada Goose feed in this area in the spring. At the west end of Hayden Loop Rd, bird the ponds near the intersection with Canyon Rd. During spring and summer, look for blackbirds, Wood Duck, Hooded Merganser, Sora, Belted Kingfisher, and House Wren. Along Hardy Loop Rd look for migrating shorebirds such as Semipalmated Plover, Solitary and Spotted Sandpipers, Marbled Godwit, and Long-billed Dowitcher.
