There are proposed changes for each region except the Salmon Region. Anglers are encouraged to comment on these proposals to help Fish and Game staff and the Commission to gauge anglers' preferences.
For centuries, rotenone has been used by native tribes of Central and South America to catch fish for food. Since the 1930s, it has also been used by fishery managers to control and remove unwanted fish. Rotenone blocks the exchange of oxygen across the gills of fish and essentially suffocates them.
Fish and Game owes an immense gratitude to anglers statewide for helping us better understand how our bass fisheries and how current fishing regulations are working.
Members of this working group have been selected and will meet several times between now and fall 2024 to learn and discuss the issues surrounding elk management. Conservation officers located the doe in the Zimmer Creek area of Unit 33, just north and east of Banks, and believe it was shot sometime between May 5 and May 8.
On Saturday, May 18, 2024, the Idaho Fish and Game, Magic Valley Region, will be honoring five individuals who have made significant contributions to the conservation of Idaho’s fish and wildlife resources.
These Conservation Heroes will be recognized during the Department’s 125th anniversary celebration at the Twin Falls City Park from 3 – 6 p.m. with the presentation of the awards at 5 p.m. at the City Park bandshell.
